The Mohare Danda Trek is a short and scenic trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is ideal for beginners, families, and travelers with limited time. Over 7 days, including 4 days of trekking, you will walk through terraced farmlands, Gurung and Magar villages, and green forests. The trail offers a real taste of village life in Nepal.
The trek gives stunning Himalayan views, including snow-capped peaks. The trails are moderate and easy to follow, suitable for new trekkers. Along the way, you can enjoy forest walks, mountain vistas, and encounters with local people. This trek is perfect for those who want a short Himalayan adventure with natural beauty, cultural experiences, and easy trekking.
At Mohare Danda, the highest point of the trek, you get 360-degree views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The sunrise and sunset from here are especially spectacular. The surrounding hills are dotted with traditional villages and terraced fields, creating a beautiful panorama. Mohare is peaceful and less crowded, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers.
Day 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu, meet your trekking team, complete a gear check, and attend a short briefing about the trek. Use the rest of the day to relax or explore the lively streets of Thamel.
Day 2 – Kathmandu to Pokhara
Travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara by a scenic 6–7 hour drive. Spend the evening preparing for the trek and enjoying the lakeside atmosphere.
Day 3 – Pokhara to Birethanti to Ulleri
Drive from Pokhara to Birethanti, the starting point of the trek. Begin hiking along terraced fields and riverside trails before tackling the famous “Stairway to Heaven,” a challenging climb of approximately 3,300 stone steps leading to Ulleri.
Day 4 – Ulleri to Mohare Danda
Ascend steadily through dense rhododendron and oak forests, gradually reaching the scenic ridge of Mohare Danda, known for its peaceful setting and mountain panoramas.
Day 5 – Mohare Danda to Ghorepani
Enjoy a spectacular ridge walk with wide 360-degree views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. Continue through alpine landscapes to reach Ghorepani.
Day 6 – Ghorepani to Birethanti to Pokhara
Descend through forest trails and traditional villages via Tikhedhunga before driving back to Pokhara. Relax with a hot shower and celebrate the completion of your trek.
Day 7 – Departure
Return to Kathmandu by road and transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
